Koh Tao Part 1
Tuesday 1st Febuary I left Koh Phangan for Koh Tao, on the "taxi" I met Suzy Q from Vancouver, Canada - who I'm sure won't mind me saying - never shut up! She was going over to Koh Tao to meet up with some people she had met before and suggested that I tag along and meet up with them all too! Sounded like a good plan. On the boat we got approached by the Diving Touts who showed me a dive school near where Suzy would be staying so, I thought this would be as good a place as any. Turns out it was right next door! I was diving at Buddha View and staying at Sunshine 2 with Mr. Happy (the nickname subsequently given to the guy who ran Sunshine 2 because he was miserable as sin!). Didn't get up to much that day but met up with Suzy and her friends Dara (?) from Dublin and Olly and Will from Newquay!
The next day I started my diving course, Rob was our Dive Master for the course and the first day was spent in the classroom (physics lessons!) and dive training in the swimming pool! That night we all just chilled at the Easy Bar near us and drank far too much Vodka - the plus side being I didn't actually buy a drink! Did my first proper dive on the Thursday was great fun and I knew i would really enjoy the course! Went out that night with the gang and met up with a couple of other girls Helen and Gill! We were at the AC bar in the maoin town vhillingon the beach and dancing the "Willman (TM)" named after Will's style of dancing because he has no rhythum! Did two more dives the next day and saw the usual, Angel Fish, Groupers, baracuda, trigger fish! Suzy and Dara went today as they were heading over to Oz. Had an early start on the Saturday as I was doing my last two open water dives at 7.30am!! Not good. They were great again our instructor changed to Pete from Ireland, who kept bribing us to by him beers if we did something wrong! That afternoon me, Tab and Lotty went snoklling at Shark Bay and saw some amazing Black Tipped Reef sharks - not very big - but big enough thankyou very much! As it was Saturday thought I would break the habit of a life time and watch the footy, Will unfortunatley is a Scum fan (Man U for the non-footy fans)! Chilled on the beach the next day and took Olly and Will to see the sharks - think I saw the Mummy Shark today as it seemed alot bigger than the day before! Had an amazing Beach BBQ with Olly, Will, Helen and Gill - the fish was fantastic! Huge prawns and for about 60p!!
